The history of Alain Silberstein watches
His first collection was shown in Basel in 1987. The design of his watches was something different from what was going on in the world of watches at the time. He was experimental with colour, and design. Gaining inspiration from the Bauhaus movement.
As an independent watchmaker, he is aware of the difficulties for independents to find distributors that will work with smaller companies as well as larger ones.
He enjoys playing with designs while still having respect for the old watchmaking transitions.
The 'Alain Silberstein Alligator Collection' has cases covered in alligator skin with a matching strap. The 'Pave Smileday Cuir Black' and 'Pave Smileday Cuir Brown' have smiley faces at six o’ clock. Remaining colourful, but slightly more conservative is the ‘Bolido Collection’.
Although he has currently stopped production, his designs will continue as he wants a new generation to appreciate his artwork.
