The history of Braun watches
The Braun watch brand is linked with two German designers. Dieter Rams initially study architecture and interior decoration at Wiesbaden School of Art in 1947. After a year of gaining practical experience, he returned to complete his studies and graduated in 1953. He began working for Braun in 1955 and became their Chief Design Officer in 1961 until 1995. Dietrich Lubs worked as part of the design team for Rams, staring at Braun in 1962. He became deputy head of the design department in 1995 and left the company in 2001.
Together Rams and Lubs designed the DN 30s / 4808 Digital clock in 1983, the AW 10 wristwatch in 1989, and the AW 50 wristwatch in 1991 to name a few. They were responsible for many patents during their time at Braun.
The style of the Braun watches today echoes the form of these two great designers. These quality watches are timeless in their style, and their clear, clean faces allow for functionality.
