The history of Ingersoll watches
Founded by Robert and Charles Ingersoll in America, Ingersoll is one of the oldest American watchmakers. The brothers wished to produce watches of high quality yet affordable prices. Initially, each watch as built by hand, but then in 1892, taking inspiration from Henery Ford, they developed a production line for producing watches. The brand proved very popular with the ‘Dollar Watch’, the development of the smallest pocket watch, the first glow in the dark watch (1919), the first military watch and the first-ever watch with a character, of Mickey Mouse which was commissioned by Disney (1933). Ingersoll continues to create precision watches at affordable prices.
