The history of Oris watches
Oris was founded in 1904 by Paul Cattin and Georges Christian in Holstein, Switzerland. They had both purchased the Lohner & Co watch factory as they had recently closed on the 1 June 1904. 2 years later in 1906, the firm had opened an assembly plant and a second factory located in the nearby town of Holderbank. In 1911 Oris had become one of the biggest employers in Holstein and it had over 300 workers. Oris had started to build some apartments for the staff so they could enhance more staff to come work for Oris.
Oris, today in 2019, continues with the Dive Control Limited Edition. It includes a lightweight titanium case and coated in black. The new watch features up to a 60-minute chronograph counter from midnight, and it includes a key detailing in bright yellow.
